Play in Bay

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we reopened the playground on May 13, 2017, with many new features to enjoy and have made several improvements so it continues to be a great place for kids to play.

For twenty years, Play-in-Bay has brought joy to thousands of young children and relief to parents looking for a safe space for their kids to play for hours.

The Playground is fenced in and has an area for pre-schoolers and an area for school age children. Free parking is available just outside the Playground gate. It is close to the Bay Village community pool, to baseball and soccer fields and right next to tennis and basketball courts. And it’s only a mile from Huntington Beach, the Cleveland Metroparks and BAYarts. There is something for kids of all ages.

The Playground includes a variety of Playground equipment for all ages including swings, slides, hand over hand rings, cargo net, tire climb, pole climber, sand box area and a recently added Fit Play system that includes a 3 sided rock climbing wall, hand over hand double parallel bars, chinning bars, cargo net wall, balance beam and stepping pods.

There are benches in the Playground and plenty of grassy area for a picnic, or you can take advantage of the local eateries. It’s less than a quarter mile to local food establishments like Pizza Hut, Subway, Java Bay and Geppetto’s Pizza and Ribs or just a little further to Malley’s, Dairy Queen, Gina’s Pizza, Mojo’s Coffee, Panarama Deli and Restaurant, Arrabiatas Italian Restaurant and Fragapane Bakery and Deli.

Play in Bay was built in 1995 by the citizens of Bay Village, and was the genesis for the start of the Bay Village Foundation. While it is still one of the premier playgrounds on Cleveland's Westside, the Bay Village Foundation recently raised over $100,000 to refurbish and enhance the playground.

Several new features  were added in the Fall of 2016. Including, r covering all the handrails and post caps, and replacing all of the decking, with composite material, to help eliminate the possibility of splinters in the hands and feet of children using the playground.

Donations to continue support for the playground, which are tax deductible, can be accepted online or sent to the Bay Village Foundation, PO Box 40122, Bay Village, OH 44140.
